Canon cp 100 printer
According to the official Canon
CP-100 printer site, the CP-100 is "compact enough
to go anywhere comfortably. Add the optional battery
pack, and it can print anywhere
that you can connect it to your
PowerShot digital camera. In just seconds, you can produce
sharply detailed, realistically colored, durably protected
prints of your digital images,
without
having to use a computer."
The Canon CP-100 printer is a complete
printing system in an extremely compact unit. You don't
need to enter data
from
your PowerShot
camera into a personal computer and then into the computer's
printer. A dedicated cable connects any of 10 PowerShot
Models to the Canon CP-100 printer. The models are the
professional grade G3, G2; the S40, S30, S230, S330, and
S200; the A40,
A200
and A100. Because all of the necessary controls and bundled
software are already a part of your PowerShot camera, they
aren't necessary on the printer, keeping weight and bulk
to a minimum.
The Canon CP-100 printer produces color prints that equal
the sharpness and durability of prints from film negatives.
The printer's
resolution is 300x300 dpi, more than adequate for a crisply
detailed postcard sized image from any 2 megapixel or greater
camera, or for credit card size prints from 1.2 megapixel
cameras. The dye sublimation color process precisely controls
the flow of ink, resulting in subtle shadings and realistic
colors.
The printer also covers each print with a clear, protective
overcoating that protects it from the effects of sunlight
and weather. The prints from the Canon CP-100 printer are
at least as durable as photographic prints from film.
Canon engineers took simplicity and ease of use to real
extremes in the Canon CP-100 printer. In three steps, you
complete the entire printing process. The only control
button on
the
printer itself is the on/off switch.
The Canon CP-100 printer comes with a single dedicated
cable which plugs into the PowerShot digital camera. That's
the
only
connection
you have to make.
You don't need a computer, although the Canon
CP-100 printer will print images directly from your hard drive as well
as from
the
camera. If you use the optional battery pack, you don't
even need an AC outlet. Just your PowerShot camera, the
Canon CP-100 printer and a cable to connect them.
The Canon CP-100 printer can produce
prints in different sizes: postcard
size, credit card size, and even mini-label. You also
get to decide, of course, which image you want to print,
what portion of the image should be printed,
and whether it should have a border or full bleed to the
edge of the print. For such a compact and lightweight unit,
the Canon CP-100 printer contains a lot of versatility.
